Challenge:
This food processor had a
need to replace and improve a machine that sorted or
“graded” incoming carrots. The existing design worked but
needed to be updated and capacity doubled while maintaining
the current “ foot print “.
Solution:
Castle Harvester Metal Fabricators met with the customers
plant operations team and proposed a double reel design.
This double reel design also incorporated a drive that
allowed either one reel to drive or both at once. This gave
them the ability to run one if the other broke down.
Results: We were
able to design a unit that fit their needs and meet their
tight delivery requirements. Customer achieved greater
efficiencies and productivity. Our design and
manufacturing engineering support helped customer reduce
costs.
